UGH!

I started painting Caleb's room yesterday. I bought bright red paint to paint a strip on the top of the wall. I already have 2 coats on it and it looks horrible. You can see all the streaks from the roller. I'm hoping today, now that it is 100% dry, one last coat might do the trick. If not, I may be altering my painting plans.

Love you. Love Red. But I have difficult news to pass along. It took 5 coats to look pretty good on my little sister's red. Red is one of the most difficult colors to paint... next time I highly recommend a tinted primer... in the mean time... try 3 more coats before giving up... it will look good in the end :)

When we painted our upstairs playroom a year and a half ago when Eliseo was in Africa, we used a marroony red. I didn't know about primer either and no one had told me ahead of time. It took us 3 coats. It looks beautiful but I don't know if I want to ever go that dark of a color again for that reason alone. Hang in there!

Oh man, red is a tough one. We got lucky though. Not sure if it was because of our original wall color or not but we only had to do two coats of our red wall in the living room (and no primer). We used a Ralph Lauren color too (Malia Red). Not sure if that made a difference.

when i did taylor's room it took three coats and by the third i was so mad that i put it on way too thick and it started to drip in some spots. i don't recommend doing that. good luck.
