We are heading to the mountains on Thursday to go camping...for the first time as a family. Yep, you read that correctly. We have never been camping together. I went all the time as a child, but haven't gone since high school. Scott has never been, our children have never been. We decided we have been putting it off long enough. Our friends, John, Amy, and Jeremy, invited us to go with them. So the adventure begins. I think we are pretty well set in having what we need, but if anyone out there has any great words of wisdom to pass along to help make our first trip a good one, they would be greatly appreciated.

My advice: make sure the kids are asleep before you & Scott (oh, that's me) do..................................................................................................................................................................................any snipe hunting - hee hee - get your mind outta the gutter!
hey. during my daily blog fix i came across yours. my one necessity for camping is baby wipes. trust me. they are a life saver.
Just make sure you got lots of S'More fixings and flashlights and you'll be set!
whatever you do, do not bring up any library books!! I made that mistake last time, it seemed like a great time to catch up on reading, but the edge of one of the books got smudged with dirt and I had to pay a $10 fine.
Pack the s'mores!!!! Have a great time, guys!
sounds like fun. we too, had our official camping trip with the boy this year. if you can call it camping. we were in campers at a koa...but hey, the dirt is the same right? oh yeah...dirt, dirt, dirt. you'll be cleaning it out of every crevasse of your loved ones for days. :O) but you'll have a great time. definately worth it all. oh yeah...and in case no one told you yet, don't forget the smores :O)
